Sound quality of conversion
Various audio conversion software can provide different sound qualities. It is noise and distortion levels, primarily.
In this picture, we can see spectrogram of PCM audio file in CD resolution. This file is result of conversion from DSD file.
The vertical axis is a frequency. Upper along the axis means higher frequency. The horisontal axis is time. The future in the right.
We can see the original signal as the bright line. It is clearly visible on the upper part of the picture.
The distortions are visible as the repeatable lines with lower brightness. These lines show audible distortions, that correlate with the original signal.
Conversion speed may depend on conversion accuracy. Higher accuracy requires more computing resources and time.
Sometimes, when convert files, frequency band reduction can mute playback noise.
Check AuI ConverteR's Settings > General tab > Filter mode list.If you listen to noise in converted FLAC, use "Optimized" mode for DSF to FLAC conversion.
"Optimized G5" mode is slower and recommended for the professional using rather. The mode causes a shorter ringing length.
